Port Orchard, a Good Neighbor of Quality Heating, at the Center of Kitsap County

Port Orchard Is a Good Neighbor of Quality Heating

Port Orchard Marinas from the air

Port Orchard is a beautiful waterfront community with a population of 14,770 residents. It is also a good friend and neighbor of Quality Heating in the heart of our service area.

The town that was to become Port Orchard was originally platted in 1886 by Frederick Stevens, who named the new location after his father, Sidney. The town of Sidney was incorporated September 15, 1890, and was the first in Kitsap County to be both platted and incorporated.

Today’s county seat of Kitsap County is located 13 miles due west of West Seattle and is connected to Seattle and Vashon Island via the Washington State Ferries run to Southworth. It is named after Port Orchard, the strait that separates Bainbridge Island from the Kitsap Peninsula.

When visiting the city, it is hard to miss the majestic view of the Olympic Mountains and the pride of military heritage just across the water at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
